Selling a 1991 944 S2 Firehawk racecar. This is a very rare, original Porsche 944 Firehawk factory built race car! One of only 7 known to exist! Official Porsche certificate of authenticity marks the vehicle as a special "Prototype Model". The vehicle comes with a stack of records, receipts and PCA logs. The 944 S2 Firehawk has the same tub as the turbo cup cars, with the S2 motor and running gear. This car was originally sold to Kelly Moss Racing. The vehicle is so close to stock that it is fully street legal. The IMSA Firestone Firehawk series running at the time of this car's build featured cars that were very close to their street-car counterparts. Porsche built seven Firehawk 944s for the series themselves. Porsche was the most successful manufacturer to compete in the 1985-93 IMSA Firehawk Endurance series, they won the manufacturer championship in 1985, 1991, and 1992. A Wisconsin racing team, Kelly Moss Motorsports attracted Porsche AG's attention with their success in the 1989-90 season in their modified 944 S2. Porsche decided to get serious about the series and committed to build 7 special 944 S2 club sport units to compete in the 1991 season. These became known as the "Super Seven". This example is one of those original cars. It is very original and numbers matching with COA. It features the special Firehawk cam, original Koni Cup suspension, factory Recaro seats, magnesium wheels, and matter cage. It has no sunroof, no A/C, no power steering and no sound deadening. This is a very rare and significant Porsche race car!
