Hey guys.. I posted few weeks back asking for advice on my 2007. (in the 997 area.) This car was my daily driver for the last 5 years. NO TRACK NO RACE NO ACCIDENTS. only daily driver in LA.

The car STARTS and RUNS. but i would not recommend running it other than to get it on a flatbed. the bearing and or engine should be repaired first. Its unclear what the damage is IMS or something else. basically the engine it done..

all photos attached.

this car was well maintained and serviced.

the transmission was replaced brand new by porsche on warranty a year or 2 ago when one of the synchros went out.

it has new rubber on the back

new coolant reservoir. new pump.

black on black leather

2007 carrerra 997 silver. Manual Transmission

79K miles

LOCATTION LOS ANGELES CA 90036

VIN PHOTO AND TITLE ATTACHED

no accidents. i am the owner on the title.

I feel your pain my man. I poured RIDICULOUS money into a 996 before finally walking away from it. GLWS!

BASED UPON YOUR PREVIOUS POST "CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE" AND PREVIOUS DESCRIPTION OF METAL IN MOTOR, YOUR DISCLOSURE OF A $3000 FIX IS NOT ACCURATE. AND I BELIEVE THERE ARE ENOUGH INFORMED INDIVIDUALS ON THE FORUM THAT EVEN IF IT WAS THE BEARING IT COULD STILL NOT BE FIXED FOR $3000. WOULD HATE TO SEE SOMEONE PURCHASE THIS CAR AND EXPECT TO GET FIXED FOR YOUR PROPOSED COST. HONESTLY IS THE BEST POLICY.

nothing fishy going on here man.
Read all the notes.
The car is as is.
I was quoted 3-4K for a IMS repair
15-20k for a engine swap
and 8-16k as a roller.
There is nothing to hide. The engine should not be ran. It's stated in the thread.

I'm not proposing any price for a repair or what repair needs to happen.

But I appreciate your input even in ALL CAPS to get your point across

Posting that your motor is shot on the internet is a double edged sword...

You got lots of good info, but you now permanently posted the cars short comings for life... (and your license plate too by the way)

I think what the prior poster is trying to say is that your ad says its needs a "$3000 IMS or an engine replacement." That's not what your prior thread said. There, it sounded like it definitely needs an engine...

You are putting yourself at risk with your ad, should someone buy it and think all it needs is an IMS...

Peace...

I have edited the post to make it clear to everyone the engine is not working and has failed on this car.

check the post ... it now should be cleat to anyone the engine is jacked up... I just want to dump the car... I'm not trying to screw anyone.. It would be wrong of me to not state the engine is out... how is that a double edge sword... its very clear... this is a roller... on previous posts weeks ago the car has been in the shop the whole time and i have just been going off what they told me and updating and getting advice from all the experts and people worth talking to... Not the people that sit on forums all day and have nothing else to do ... I have never been on a forum for anything in my life but i have learned a lesson now that people on here are fanatical and way to envolved... that is a broad generalization but it has proven true with the small exception of really nice folks that are experts and have called me or written some really good advice. this was my first porsche.. I'm not a expert nor do i know the inner workings of the engine.
thanks\\

i will post the title and plate why would i care.. I will post my address as well.. come see me... what is there to hide.. I'm trying to sell a car...

Reasonable price for someone who can deal with the damage.
Good luck with sale!

That would be a great buy for someone who can drop an engine in economically or perhaps some sort of engine swap.....

Los Angles Dismantler has a 3.6 L engine from a 2005 997 with 73 K miles for $12,995.

I know... I know... but still.

Specialized German has a 3.6 L engine from a 2006 997 with 78 K miles for $12,000.

This would be a fun project for someone located in SoCal.
