My GT4 is here and so selling my perfect track setup....

2007 Cayman S 6M, black/black, 36K, 21K on crate motor (10/11). All work by Charlie Lacy of Innovative Autosports in Carrollton, TX and Park Place Porsche. Car has current TX tags and is very streetable. No expense is spared in its service and upgrades. Dyno shows 290 hp / 258 ft-lb at the wheels, about +40 over stock CS, and more than a stock CR or 981 CS. With the all the upgrades I don't think this car can be made to lap any faster.

Factory options include Bose, Sport Chrono, Xenons.

Significant upgrades and repairs last 2 years...

1/14 Brombacher custom tune
9/14 GT3 LCAs
1/15 Alcantara headliner
3/15 Head gaskets, clutch, Guard Club LSD, Accusump valve, underdrive pulley
6/15 GT3 ARBs
1/16 full respray, windshield
4/16 left axle
5/16 clear bra on front bumper, fenders and hood
10/16 front rotors
11/16 power steering pump, pressure line

Price includes 19" Lobster Forks. I have 2 sets of 18" OZ Alleggeritas in grey for add'l costs.

Also available is steel deck trailer with tow ramps and trailer mates, tool box, tire rack, sway pro hitch and more.

I'd like to sell as a lot but will consider breaking it up. If you have a tow vehicle you are ready to go the track.

Will consider any serious offers to buy.

Prices-
Cayman $39,000
OZs $3,500
Trailer $3,500

Or $45,000 for all above

Here's the full list of goodies....

Safety-
Porsche Recaro Euro spec GT3 seats, black leather
Brey Kraus truss bar and harness mounts
Teamtech 5 point harnesses - factory 3 point seatbelts still in place for street.
Porsche perforated track pedals including dead pedal

Suspension-
NEW power steering Nov 2016
GT3 adjustable lower control arms
GT3 adjustable sway bars
Bilstein PSS9 coil-overs
Tarrett camber plates
H&R 7mm wheel spacers

Engine-
underdrive pulley
Fabspeed exhaust (modified)
IPD plenum, GT3 82mm throttle body
De-snorkle intake
K&N Air filter
lightweight flywheel
FVD Brombacher custom tune.

Note: last dyno pull was 290 rwhp @ 6000 / 258 lb @5850. Keep in mind the tune was added last so it alone added +18 hp/+16 lb. Stock is about 250 rwhp.

Oiling-

Thanks hf1, I think I'm gonna regret selling it in years to come but can't justify 2 almost identical cars.

To answer the 2 engine questions in advance:
The original engine blew after overrev by previous owner; The rebuild was prompted by water found in the oil due to head gasket failure. We believe the heads were torqued by the exhaust hitting the halfshafts under full lateral loads after discovering clear evidence on both pieces. We addressed this by cutting and adding more arc to both sides of the exhaust. I don't think the Fabspeed design accounted for full lowering and full travel.

For those who track, I recommend painting lines along each shaft for peace of mind.

Saw a video of you driving the 987. Goes like a stink. Five years later you can still sell it for what you're asking for it right now while risking 1/3 of the value on the track (cheaper to insure). Sell the GT4 instead.

I hear you, I have this discussion in my head everyday but the decider is that the GT4 is special and has the greater upside.... I think... today... right now

In terms of value few years down the road, for equal amount/level of track driving, I think the GT4 would depreciate much more and cost much more to run than the 987 -- especially once it gets out of warranty. The 987 is already way out of warranty and you already have sunk the $ into it which you will never get back by selling it. You may as well get your money's worth by driving its pants off for the next few years.

Not discussing differences in drive, feel, speed here -- just value. Your black 987 reminded me of my black 987 Boxster S which brought me from Green to Black in DE so got little nostalgic. Still miss it to this day.

Good luck with whatever you decide! It's all good.

I hear you on operating costs but the depreciation may get the GT bounce/collectability long term depending on how the next GT4 is spec'd and I don't think I'll sell it anyway. As you said, it's all good, first world problems.
