Mileage: 44,945 (2016.06.02)

One-owner, never tracked (not even autox’ed, actually, which I’m a little sad about). No accidents, title in-hand.

Location: Santa Barbara, CA

Price: $22,995

Factory / Dealer Options:
  • Wheel locks (not currently installed, but included)
  • Clear bra (front bumper, first half of hood, mirrors)

Modifications:
  • Milltek resonated cat-back exhaust
  • Mann Engineering height-adjustable coilovers (custom-valved AST single-adjustable dampers-- 12 firmness settings)
  • Whiteline front / rear swaybars + bushings
  • Whiteline front strut tower brace
  • Whiteline rear swaybar mount support braces
  • Whiteline rear subframe mount bushing inserts
  • Whiteline positive shift kit (trans mount bushing)
  • 17x7.5” OZ Alleggerita wheels (white) (~15lbs per corner: about 5lbs less than the stock wheels each!)
  • 225x45x17 Michelin Pilot Super Sports (installed March 2016 @ 39,259mi: ~5.2mm front / 4.8mm rear tread remaining)
  • Tom’s Racing JDM tail lights
  • JDM clear sidemarkers + orange bulbs
  • Perrin short antenna
  • Diode Dynamics LED refit: interior dome lighting, trunk lighting, plate lighting, reverse lights

Maintenance:
  • Completely stock powerplant, factory break-in procedure followed
  • All maintenance records
  • All maintenance / oil changes performed by Subaru
  • Blackstone used oil analyses starting with third oil change (didn’t bother with the first two because contamination with break-in material is normal)
  • Stock tail lights replaced under warranty (they had the condensation issue)
  • Throwout bearing replaced under warranty (the original started to squeak-- had the dealer replace it immediately)

Extras:
  • Completely new stock tail lights (originals were replaced under warranty due to condensation issue: replacements were removed and boxed up after 45 minutes on the car)
  • OEM wheels
  • OEM suspension (dampers, springs, swaybars)
  • OEM exhaust system
  • OEM sidemarkers
  • OEM antenna
  • OEM badging, in case you want to stick it back on the trunk lid :P
  • Milltek non-resonated midpipe (can be fitted if desired to give the car a louder, more aggressive sound)

I have nothing but good things to say about this car: it’s been my daily driver for three years and it’s been totally reliable, very economical (~30mpg highway, no out-of-pocket maintenance costs other than the regular preventative stuff) and a ton of fun to drive. My only reason for selling is that I’ve just bought a Porsche and can’t reasonably afford to keep two cars.

This car is perfect for anyone who loves driving. The suspension setup is really nice: the car isn’t lowered much-- which is what you want for going fast on California’s less-than-perfect roads-- but the handling of the car is much improved. Body roll is almost non-existent, and the new swaybars give the car a much more neutral balance in long, sweeping corners. The current setup is quite nice: pointy in hairpins so the car will rotate, but stable on long, high-speed sweepers.

Engine is (and always has been) completely stock. Oil analyses show the engine is healthy, and it feels like it when you drive the car. You could keep this car as-is and just go drive it fast and enjoy it, or it would be a great clean-slate candidate for forced induction (the handling stuff is already done-- all you’d need would be an FI kit and maybe bigger brakes to cope with the higher speeds).

I’ve done my best to keep the car in good condition: it’s the first car I’ve owned since new and I’m very proud of it. It’s always been hand-washed and waxed (rare for the car to go more than two months without a fresh coat of wax), and the car’s been maintained more like an aircraft than a car (I work as a helicopter pilot-- we’re fairly neurotic about our machines). The exterior is in very good shape with the exception of the front bumper cover, which has come cracks in the bottom from where a pickup truck in front of me on the freeway dropped a loose item out of its bed. Wheels have never been curbed (stock wheels included) and are in good shape-- the only defects are a couple of stone chips on the paint of the OZs. The interior is extremely clean: I rarely have passengers, and the car is a no smoking / eating zone.

Car is available to see in Camarillo or Santa Barbara, depending on the day (I work in Camarillo). PPIs welcome at buyer’s expense.
