My 1985.5 944 8V

$6,000 obo

I’m a 16 year PCA member and have owned all variations of the 944 series. I’m a long time forum member and hope that I have explained the car well. Thanks for looking!

Slate Grey with Burgundy Interior, 69,800 original miles. Not a daily driver. I can confirm that since 2001 the car has been garage kept. All books, tools, air pump and two sets of keys.

Working roof, up&down no issues, power drivers seat, both seats operate as they should, all dash switches work, power mirrors (a bit of effort to get them where you want), windows and switches work, rear hatch release works, rear wiper works, heat and blower motor works in all settings, AC compressor comes on but does not blow cold. Never tested the cruise control, radiator fans work and come on at temp, headlights and all aux lighting work fine. H4 headlamps, Blaupunkt CD player, speakers and amp.

It’s largely original inside and very clean. The dash has slight cracks (photo) on the pod but the rest is very nice. No missing switches or broken plastic bits. No stains in carpet or the newer mats. Seats are in very good condition with no tears or heavy wear marks on bolsters.

The paint work is original in most areas. I found the drivers door, hood and probably the clear blended into the qtr. I’ve been inside the door and qtr and see no signs of dent repair, the underside was inspected and no damage there either. I can only assume that these were cosmetic repairs at some time. The car fax shows no accidents. The driver’s door is the only area that the paintwork shows age, I’ve tried to detail this in the photos. This is not a 10 footer by any means but it has some nicks and stone chips that you would expect. I’ve owned many cars and personally have restored some from bare metal to full disassembled cars. I’m very particular about paint, gaps etc. This is a very, very presentable car.

The drivetrain has some performance modifications; Koni adjustable front coils, rear torsion and shocks, MO30 sways F&R, short shift, cross drilled rotors F&R with performance pads, 2.5 high flow exhaust, Jon Milledge 2V camshaft, autothority big bore TB and chip (Have original), fuel regulator, . Those parts and installation dates are outlined in the service history below.

I ran a carfax on the car and the registration dates match the history I have and know of the car. I can say the car has likely not seen any winter driving in its life, as there are no tell tail signs of corrosion as I have had seen in previous cars that I have owned. The 944 areas of concern are clean, battery tray, all drains run clean.

What’s very nice about this car is that it doesn’t leak a drop, nothing. No oil, no power steering no gear oil. It’s been cared for and mechanically sound. I have the factory drip pan removed during my ownership and my garage floor is painted tan so I would definitely know. I’ve taken various day trips 100+/- trips and cruised at 80mph with no issue.

Its starts without fail, hot or cold. Runs through every gear with no issue handles great and brakes well. The trans is quite and the clutch is good. I washed and drove it this weekend

A personal inspection is welcome as is a PPI at the buyers expense. I can assist with shipping if your out of state and would not hesitate to drive it home.

PPI welcome at buyers exspense

Well over 14K in receipts of service and parts will accompany this car.

Looks like a really nice 944. Reminds me back when I first got into this hobby!
