Regretfully selling my 964 after all these years. I've owned the car since 2006 and ~60k miles. I pretty much planned for this to be a forever car, but I guess plans often don't work out the way you want them to. My wife and I are purchasing our first home, and an outstanding opportunity just came to us - unfortunately it means I need to free up as much cash as possible.
The car drives AMAZING and feels like it is brand new off the showroom floor. I've religously performed preventative maintenance on the car myself and kept it in tip top running condition. The engine runs strong, sounds great, and pulls like a FREIGHT TRAIN. Definitely all the factory horses in this one. The paint is original, and though the front end does show the usual amount of wear for a 110k mile car, it is in GREAT shape for the age (it has been garaged for its entire life AFAIK). I want to make clear this is not a concours car, but it shows really really well for its age and mileage -it would make a great Porsche for someone who just wants to drive it and enjoy without a lot of work, or do a light "rolling restoration" (though it doesn't need much). It would also be a good base for a backdate or RWB type build.
I don't think there is another late 964 coupe with a manual trans and this mileage within even $5k. I've priced it here because frankly, I need to raise cash for this house, and it does need a few things to be 100% (none of them effect the driving experience or mechanical health of the car however). With these things in mind I believe this is a "below market value" price for the car.
Engine/Trans
-Runs like a top, great oil pressure and always low oil temperatures. One afternoon last week I sat in traffic on I-95 in Georgia for a good hour and it never got above about 1/3 on the gauge. At one point my phone showed it was 97* out
-Always changed engine oil every 5k miles with either Brad Penn 20w50 or Total Quartz 10w50
-Doesn't burn or leak oil. After a winter in storage the bottom of the case is damp but it doesn't leave even a single drop on the ground after 3 months
-Flushed transmission oil twice with Mobil Delvac, once in 2008 and again last year - the G50 shifts smooth as butter
-RS single fan pulley
-New Bosch starter installed last summer
-Custom welded "G pipe" secondary muffler bypass
-Last valve adjustment this past winter - barely needed any adjustment in about 14k miles since the last one
-Good strong clutch engagement
-A/C delete
-Rear engine compartment blower fan went kaput so I took it out. It does need a heater bypass tube in its place
Suspension/Wheels/Tires
-H&R street coilovers. They ride firm but compliant - great compromise for a fast road car
-18x8/18x10 replica 996 turbo twists
-225/40R18 & 265/35R18 Bridgestone RE760 tires purchased from the Tire Rack in 2012. I don't have measurements on hand but they are still "knee deep" in tread and will be for some time
-Red painted brack calipers (paint is just barely starting to chip on the front left caliper)
Exterior
-Original black paint in good condition
-Typical front "road rash" of a 110k mile car
-Rear bumper was nudged by a parallel parking driver last year. Damage was next to nothing and I just touched up two small nicks with touch up paint
-Clear, chip/crack free glass all around
-Carbon Fiber MA Shaw RS America style wing
-FVD brake ducts
-FVD clear corners
-Rennline tow hook license plate bracket
-The "911_50" sticker on the front left fender is just vinyl that is easily peeled right off
Interior
-Rottec sGT3 seats with alcantara centers and silver deviated stitching
-Appbiz RS style carpet kit in premium black sliverknit
-Appbiz RS style door cards with map pockets and speaker perforations
-RS style rear seat delete
-Red Gemballa tachometer face (redline at 12:00 position)
-Black painted center console
-Rennline "track mat" on driver's side
-Integrated K40 radar detector
-Alpine radio with aux and USB input
-Sunroof doesn't work. I believe this is a stripped out cable. The motor works great and retracts the sunroof just fine, but you have to physically help the sunroof back forward to close
-Airbag light was not installed in the clock when I bought the car. This leads me to believe there may have been a problem with it but I never personally looked into it
-The top layer of warning lights on the oil pressure/oil temp gauge are peeling
Misc
-All original tools and jack present
-Brand new battery last month
-Owner's manual, warranty information, maintenance book, etc. included in original black leather case
-Original spare included and in great shape. No tire inflator however
-No frunk carpet
This should cover absolutely everything about the car. It will be ready for pickup (either in person or by truck) beginning this Sunday, June 29. If you have questions I prefer that you email me at cniblett@gmail.com - alternatively you can PM me through this site but I will be quicker to respond to email. I would have absolutely zero qualms jumping in and driving this car to California tomorrow, and I know that whoever buys this will be getting an outstanding deal and a car to enjoy for a very, very long time. Thanks to all looking here.
