Since you are at this ad, I will save the long-winded history on the 944/944T and describe mostly the condition of this specific car instead. But... It is extremely fun to drive and either makes the perfect weekend car for the summer, or can handle Daily Driving duties as well-- Comfortable and tame enough to cruise in but is quick and handles well.
Meticulously maintained with multiple large-scale repair jobs recently completed. Service records and receipts for last ~11 years.
Miles:
- 133,200 on car/block/transmission
- 1,000 on rebuilt head
I have owned this 944T since early 2012 and the previous owner had it for ten years before that.
- Since the beginning of the previous owner's ownership, it has always been a 2nd/3rd car: Garaged and only taken out on sunny days.
- This 951 has rarely even gotten caught in rain on a few occasions, let alone be exposed to snow or salt. Each year, it went into hibernation in November and didn't emerge until March/April.
- It is getting increasingly difficult to find a nice example of an unmolested 944 Turbo, and this car is ready-to-drive.
- Comes with 3 keys and original owner's manuals
- Currently running a Cat-bypass pipe, but will include Catalytic converter
- (Passed CT Emissions before it turned 25 years old using Cat pipe)

DETAILS
________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________
Exterior: 8/10
- The Good:
- No accidents
- Re-sprayed original semi-rare color about 11 years ago--Paint cleans up VERY nicely and really makes this car an eye-catcher
- Rear wiper delete - will include the unit
- Not a full 10 because of some scratches and dents (see PhotoBucket pics)
- Most small scratches will polish out, pictured ones likely will not
- Trim pieces around windows are old and splitting
- Cracked drivers rear-view mirror (currently quick-fixed with new mirror but needs to be fixed properly to be perfect)
Interior and Electronics: 7.5/10
- The Good:
- Clean interior. No weird smells
- Seats are average for age
- Alpine head-unit with iPod integration in place of ashtray
- Driver's side leather outside bolster has a deep crack (not fully torn through)
- Sunroof needs new sunroof gear (I usually remove sunroof altogether when driving the car so never really thought to replace it--may do so soon anyway)
Engine: 9.75/10
- Motor is extremely smooth
- Has a Guru Chip installed, conservatively set to 14.7psi with Manual Boost Controller
- About 270hp--Really makes the car pull STRONG
- The "while-I-was-in-there" during the headgasket job also took care of:
- Full timing belt/water pump service
- Full front engine reseal (crank seals, camshaft seals)--This 944T DOES NOT LEAK OIL!!
- Cam Tower Housing Gasket
- Both motor mounts
- All accessible cooling hoses, Both T-Stats, etc
- Ignition system: Spark plugs, ignition wires, distributor cap, rotor
________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________
Clutch/Transmission: 9.5/10
- The Good:
- New clutch kit JUST installed (still in break-in period but weather hasn't been nice enough to put on miles)
- All new hardware, slave cylinder, and NEW flywheel
- Transmission is strong
- Small issue: The clutch pedal has about an inch at the top where it sometimes won't fully spring back to starting position after depressing and releasing it. It does NOT mechanically affect the clutch since it engages low.
Wheels/Tires/Brakes/Steering: 8.5/10
- 1,000 miles ago--Steering rack replaced with rebuilt and PS pump rebuilt
- ATP Riva 17" Wheels with polished lips, Staggered--are all straight
- All 4 tires are on their way out.
- I did not want to make the investment in case next owner wants to use different wheels, but I can get TireRack prices without delivery fees on tires if interested.

I may have some upcoming housing changes and therefore would no longer have a garage for the toy.
I am serious about selling now and have lowered the price to:
$9900
This is a lot of car for the money having so many large PIA just replaced/rebuilt (Head, Clutch, TB/WP, PS rack) and is especially enjoyable to drive in this warmer weather!
Thanks!!

shoutout for a great guy and an amazing car / opportunity
I work with the PO and have known that car for every mile since he'd purchased it 10yrs ago. Heck I was driving it when the headgasket letgo (long story, it was Norm's fault for telling me to 'stay in it' when he was experiencing a boost spike... boost gauge install accompanied that repair!).
Steve's the nicest most honest guy you'll meet, and has sorted that car extremely throughly and with great time, effort - and - expense.
This is a refreshing break from the glutted monotonous sea of Guards or Black 951s always for sale (no offense, hell my car is Guards!). The color is striking, and those wheels set it off ohso most righteously.
Here's a great chance to buy a non-molested / non-abused 951 / fully sorted 951... a rare find these days!
Someone reach out to Steve and make him a fair offer, you won't be disappointed. Until then, seeing it across the street @ work here is kinda funny 8-).
