Honestly that was my first clue something is a miss - did the supply of aircooled cars halve, or did thousands of people woke up last year ( but not year prior) thinking "you know, all the sudden i find 15 year old porsches irresistibly cool".

I'm guessing the answer is neither and this is yet another manfestation of reaching for yield combined with what Soros calls reflexivity*

* Rates near zero and small bounce in post-recession prices makes all kinds of people come out the woodwork to speculate on "investments", prices go up some more and then more randoms join in and rinse & repeat. We've seen this over and over, starting from Tulips to CROX to Japan in the 80s, Asian Tigers in the 90s etc etc.
