I bought this car from the original owner about 5 years ago and have put 4000 miles on it. Always garaged and covered.
Original owner sent the car to Andial in California about 10 years ago. He had 3.4 jugs and pistons installed, sport cams, Autothority MAF. He also had the Fuchs wheels redone and the Targa top recovered as well as new Targa rubber seals. I have never folded the top and by all indications the previous owner did not either. It looks new. The exhaust is after market stainless steel - I don't know the brand but it looks and sounds great.
In the last five years I have only done a few things to the car. I installed a modern Blaupunkt with CD and Bluetooth as well as some MB Quart speakers. I upgraded the front AC condenser to a Kuehl unit in 2010 and had the entire AC system serviced by a qualified shop - it works well. I replaced the front brake pads. I installed a headlight relay to relieve the current on the turn signal switch. I changed the oil using Brad Penn. The tires are Dunlops in excellent condition.
The paint is original - it's very good but it is 28 years old and not concours. There is a small scrape on the rear valence from an awkward driveway but I will replace this if seller desires - you pretty much have to be lying on the ground to see it. There is zero rust on the car. The interior is excellent and there are no cracks in the dash at all. It has the best shifting gearbox of any Carrera I have owned - second gear is smooth as butter going up or down.
If you are looking for a nice Targa that you can drive confidently from day one, this is the car for you. You could not restore a lesser car for this price.
I am not a dealer hustling a buck. I have owned and raced Porsches for 17 years. Please get in touch with me at srfox @ mac.com
