SF Bay Area: consignment recommendations?
Looking to sell my 964 turbo in the coming months and dont want to deal with all the tire kickers/etc.
Can anyone recommend a good consignment dealer in the Bay Area you have used? Or perhaps more importantly those to avoid? PM me if you are uncomfortable posting negative comments publicly. Thanks Matty |
San Francisco Motorsports in San Carlos sells tons of cars.

Not exactly local but Paul at Autokennel is a great choice.

San Francisco Sports Cars just sold my 964 Turbo, could not have had a better cleaner experience.

Owner Brad is a stand up guy who knows more about exotics and sports cars/pricing than anyone locally. Go to guy to do business with. I stop by there just to see what's on the floor every few weeks. Sam is one of his sales people and also seems to know the market.

I'm biased since I'm a principal at this business, but we have sold many Porsches ranging from genuine 550 Spyders/RSKs/904s to a 991 911R and some Carrera GTs. Here's a 965 we sold: http://fantasyjunction.com/cars/1884...o%206-Cylinder

I would NOT recommend Dawydiak if you actually want your car, you know, sold. Horrible sales staff and zero follow-up...zero.

Rob at S Car Go would be a Good place to maybe get it looked at Before hand (if not already done) IMO |

Looks like you want to stay closer to SF, but recommend Steve Shee of RRS Auto Group in San Jose. Professional, knowledgeable, and an honest, stand up guy.

+997 for Rob, Pat, Wells, Dee et al; they are as good as our type of candy store can be!
The region is truly blessed to have them holding our hands & keeping everyone perfectly road-worthy. They are currently building & maintaining some special hardware. At the end of the day, properly enjoying these cars requires proper maintenance & diligence. While we all want to experience the thrill of piloting these machines, my primary goal when strapped in is to make it home safely after a day practicing. These guys remove any doubt whether all systems will be go! Scargo has broad & deep air & h2o pumper experience. I've only heard 2nd hand about their buy/sell side but if it is anything like the wrenching side (which Rob still likes to involve himself) they will not disappoint. I can't say enough of their total quality of service, generosity with their time & sharing knowledge. They love the brand & are fully vested in maintaining the stupid grins on our faces, as many on RL will attest. Even if you use another great shop that has been recommended in the south bay, Scargo is a destination when visiting the north bay.! PS I'll add some shop pics when I get off this dang app... |
