It's time to sell the Spinning Hippo. She's been a great car to introduce me to the track, but life changes means it's time for her to join a new stable. It's been a while since I posted, her build was documented here. I posted a thread to get some feedback on value here.

The Basics
1996 993 C2, Grand Prix White
72,xxx miles
New Bridgestone RE-71R's

The Modifications
Custom half-cage, Sunroof delete, all sound deadening removal
Sparco Seats; Schroth Harnesses (Hans Driver, Std Pax)
JIC Cross Suspension, monoballs, camber plates, TRG Sways & custom drop links, ERP Kinematic Toe/Camber/Upper links
RS/Lightweight Flywheel; new clutch; RS Pulley, RS Intake, RS Washer Bottle, Headlight washer delete
Wevo Motor Mounts, RS Short shift kit, Custom Odyssey 925 battery/mount; Relocated DME; Rebuilt distributor
Appbiz/RS Door Panels and carpet set; RS Steering wheel; Custom pedals/floorboards; Rennline lower dash replacement
Also has SS Brake Lines, Cat Bypass pipes, Seine Systems front hood support (and rear, not mounted), and more.

> Result: 2,800 pound street-legal track car: safe, fast, stable

With the weight reduction and suspension, the car is an absolute hoot to drive on the track. With the RS Flywheel the power is instant and the engine is free-revving. It's pretty fun in the canyons, but loud and rough over typical rural street surfaces.

As noted in the build, this is a Salvage Title car. When I purchased/PPI showed the chassis to be straight, true, and in spec; the airbags (when she had them) did not deploy. It appears the roof skin was replaced and there are two shades of white paint. To be clear, this is a 10 foot car -> looks great on the internet and when she zips by you on the track. Up close she wears the scars of about 20 track days. While I can show dozens of photos of the imperfections a la BaT, that's not the point. She's a track beast.

I think this is a perfect car for someone that wants to enjoy HPDE events and/or continue the RS Modification route (exterior). You might own a nice 993 or newer 911 and don't want to accelerate the depreciation (or risk damage) to a pristine car. Having owned a pristine '87 Carrera, I can't tell you how liberating it is to drive it on the track and not think about rocks and rubber being tossed at you. It would also be very easy to take this car to 100% track status with most of the heavy lifting already done.

I have 200+ original build photos (high-res) and a spreadsheet of maintenance and parts/upgrade available. I'll offer her on Rennlist for a bit before I go to BaT, I'd rather sell here to an enthusiast.

Thanks!

Thanks Sam!

Thanks for all the PM's this morning. I'll go ahead and post the Dropbox Link to the various build photos. I've also enclosed a folder of the cosmetic imperfections and the parts/service log.

Don

Thanks! The number of PM's from here and Pelican suggests I might have been a little generous ;-)

That being said, I want to find a buyer that will see through the cosmetic issues and notice what I did with the suspension and track setup. This will make a wonderful RS Clone for someone that wants to invest just a few more dollars and time. I could write down the recipe...

Thanks speef! Great video - his car must have extra HP to carry around his giant brass pair!
