Added a Carfax report.

Unrelated. I can run 5 more Carfax reports for $20 each via Venmo or PayPal. I might have accidentally ordered more than one.

I'm hoping to be entering the 986 market very soon and am busting my RL cherry here. Please educate me on the fixed back seats. I assume they're on sliding rails to adjust fore & aft, but that the angle (obviously) doesn't adjust. Is that correct? Also, how difficult would it be to go back to an airbag steering wheel?

I'll be looking for a DD, not a trackmobile, but am certainly more interested in performance than comfort. Guidance appreciated and GLWS if it isn't to me.

On behalf of the seller, without authorization to speak, yes; that’s correct. Fixed back. Fore - aft adjustment intact. Swapping the airbag wheel back in is plug and play. I have an extra wheel and airbag from my 987 that you can have.

A couple of other questions; sorry if I overlooked them.

What is the suspension setup? I'm used to lowering springs with Koni yellows, but I'm assuming this has something more aggressive. Can you please provide the specs and the level of suspension tune? I don't mind "tight" and "spirited" but I like my teeth and would like to keep them from rattling out of my head.

Engine mods beyond the headers and Borla cat-back? I assume the ECM hasn't be remapped/tuned(?). Also, I'm in an "emissions testing zone" so my vehicles have to clear emissions. I assume the O2 sensors are all still intact. Please let me know if that isn't the case.

Thanks.
Matt

Spot on assessment.

If you want to swap out the seats, I’d recommend finding someone with a 986 that’s willing to swap and have them at least sort the labor IMO. It’s likely they’re a direct swap to 996 seats, but don’t take my word for it. They sure do look the same, and appear to be interchangeable based on a cursory search. If this was a DD, I’d do exactly that. Don’t let the look fool you. These are track seats.

OEM steering wheel comes with the car. Easily reversible. That said, it’s one of the mods I’ve done that I absolutely love. A standard wheel feels like driving a bus to me now. The only downfall is the airbag light stays on.

Performance-wise, the car just goes. PSS9’s are used in Spec Boxster for a reason.

I’ll get some video of the exhaust note soon, and do a walk around as well.

PSS9’s have adjustable dampers. I’d say these are set to hard right now. I can’t imagine they’re difficult to adjust. My limited knowledge here is pop the wheels off, adjust, and drive.

The car throws no codes.

Re: emissions. I don’t have to meet emissions. That said, ****in Larry did in Baltimore and I’ve done no power mods since ownership.

It *could* have a tune. I wouldn’t put it past Larry to leave that out. Still, if he passed emissions for years that means my Mom could do the same. They have around the same knowledge of cars.

Right on. I'll reach out if it's still on the market when my C30 sells.
