Alright more detail...
I am the third owner as of April 2015. Car has been garage kept/covered with no record of tracking. Vehicle is currently in Raleigh NC but was previously owned and driven in upstate NY.
Maintenance:
-Previous owner performed both the 30k and 60k mile major maintenance recommended by Porsche.
-Mx records from original owner are not complete.
-PPI performed in April 15 with 76k miles. Major findings were timing tensioner adjustment/replacement, and clutch replacement. Upon purchase both findings were corrected by Porsche certified mechanic. Flywheel was in good condition when inspected during clutch replacement. Minor finding was one turbo heat shield was missing and the other was cracked. After doing some research and talking it over with mechanic we decided to hold off on replacement.
-Front bumper re-sprayed at 50k miles, otherwise all paint is original.
-Wheels have all been repainted as needed. Currently are virtually in perfect condition.
-Battery replaced in Feb 17 and has been kept on a tender when parked.
-Tires have 70% tread.
-No aftermarket mods whatsoever.
Issues:
-Turbo heat shields.
-Instrument cluster dimmer **** broken (brightness is set just right though
-AC control panel will partially black out occasionally. I'd say 1 out of 5 times on startup. Panel still works but temp and fan speed can be tough to read.
-Convertible latching mechanism cover pops off easily. Has been in the boot since I purchased it. Mechanism works perfectly.
-Expected wear on interior leather.
-A few minor rock dings on exterior. (Approx 5 but are tough to see)
-Convertible wind breaker has a crack but installs and works fine.
Overall this car has been well cared for and is in very good condition. I have more pictures and receipts on the major maintenance performed upon request. Please let me know if you have any questions.

10k?! Wow, thanks. I think its priced fairly. Not highly motivated to sell but would like to see someone get some use out of it during the spring. Not planning on performing the 90k mile service before sale so I factored that in.

I would HIGHLY suggest taking care of these before selling. Nobody will want to take over these kind of gremlins on a vehicle where parts are so expensive. Also please elaborate on the heat shield issue, what is the problem with them?
Sorry, not trying to dampen the thread, but I would highly suggest getting at least the HVAC and heatshield topics resolved since you are already aware of them. Also, a new plastic cover should be easy to replace assuming it's just the cover that may be worn out?
Pictures of these specific issue would also maybe help others to diagnose and support.

Last year, S model, cabriolet, springtime, market prices, rarity of 05 cabs, mileage is not that high for 14 year old car, and issues are minor. Start looking at pricing and this is priced like an older non-S car. Perhaps you are a bottom feeder and think everything is overpriced - I happen to think people are giving these away.

So the heat shields... Like I said one was cracked and one had come off completely. After talking with the mechanic (who is certified and has been working on these for 10+ years) they serve almost no purpose and would cost over $1000 to repair bc you have to remove the turbos to replace.

To answer your suggestion on fixing the other minor items. I have already made the decision not to fix these as it doesn’t affect my driving experience at all. If a buyer prefers a perfect example with low miles I think they will be paying in the upper 50’s into the 60 thousand range plus. Just do an auto trader search, there are 7-10 996 Turbo S’s for sale nationwide and this is priced considerably below nearly all of them.
This is a car that is solid daily driver with a lot of life left in it. Or, with 2-3 thousand dollars invested, could be a near perfect example weekend driver for the next 20 years.

Notice the 10 o’clock position trip reset and instrument dimmer **** is missing. Detailer caught his rag on it last time when dusting the dash and it snapped off. You can still reset the trip and turn the **** to adjust the brightness. There is enough to grab with your fingers.

Breaker installs solid and works fine. Not loose whatsoever once in place.
HVAC panel video:
Have been waiting for the panel to act up but it hasn't happened in the last 6 times I've driven the car. When it does act up, two bars in the first digit of the temperature field are missing and can be a bit tough to read. Also, 2 to 3 bars in the fan field also black out. It is very obvious what temperature you have set and just takes a couple extra seconds to look at it. I truly don't see a point in replacing the entire panel bc the issue is so insignificant.
