Final price drop for the season to $29,911. Hopefully it finds a good home before the winter otherwise she goes into storage until next spring. Here are some undercarriage pictures for your perusal...

How are the transmission syncros?? Any grinding at all either downshifting or upshifting?

I can drive it without grinding during upshift, downshift or even when I shift aggressively. But those who've never driven a 915 transmission that have taken it for a test drive rush the gear changes and grind the **** out of it. The car only has 74,000 miles so the synchros are far from needing replacing IMO but I'm no expert. I've learned to drive it without grinding but this is the only 915 transmission car I've ever owned or driven so I have no baseline for comparison. I was never planning on selling this car but an ambitious home remodel is forcing my hand. If I were to keep it I'd wait many more years before rebuilding the transmission...

Two were conducted, yes, by two separate buyers who have never owned a 35 year old 911 before. The car has a few small oil leaks, the back-up lights have a short in the wire, a small bit of rust under the fuel tank, it's not originally black, transmission isn't freshly rebuilt, the passenger fender has a previous repair. All things that I've disclosed to buyers who've spoken to me over the phone and have come out to see it and test drive it. I've disclosed everything that I've ever found wrong with the car along with everything that's new or repaired. They get scared off when they see it in writing because they don't know how to fix it themselves or they expect it to be a brand new car and perform like one too but only want to pay $20,000. This is a 35 year old Porsche. I've spent over $18,000 on maintenance and upgrades over my 6 years of ownership. Yes it's still not perfect, but it's pretty damn nice and it has a lot of character. Everyone keeps coming back to the fact that it's not originally a black car. Well, if you don't like it in black, don't buy it. Go find yourself a burgundy car. The car is what it is. I wouldn't repaint it to burgundy as the paint job is very nice for a driver quality car. If this was an original color car I'd be asking a whole lot more for it. If I wasn't forced to sell it for personal reasons I wouldn't...

Thanks for the update. The car is indeed very nice. I’ve been looking to buy a 911 for a while now but I think I’m on a similar boat as you - time is only going to become more scarce in the immediate future for me.

Hope it finds a caring owner,
