The Ariel Atom was initially shown to the public at the British International Motor Show in October of 1996 and was an instant hit due to its race car inspired design. Initially launched in 2000, the first generation of the car was simply known as the Atom.

“In 2005 Track and Race Car magazine published the results of a comprehensive test of a range of cars, from the Porsche 911 Carrera S, Ford GT, BMW M5 to the Caterham CSR 260. The supercharged Ariel Atom 2 won the 0–161–0 km/h (0–100–0 mph) test by a clear margin at 10.88 seconds, ahead of the Caterham CSR 260 (11.41) and the Ford GT in fourth (13.17). The Sunday Times measured the time taken for the Atom to accelerate from 0 to 97 km/h (60 mph) at 2.89 seconds, making it the world’s third-fastest accelerating production car then available, after the Bugatti Veyron’s 2.46 seconds and the Ultima GTR at 2.6 seconds.”

This particular example is a 2006 Ariel Atom 2 and is 1 of 3 ever to feature the DDMWorks “Twin-Charged” kit (Supercharged AND Turbocharged) capable of 700hp! The build on this car has been meticulous to say the least and was undertaken with an absolutely no expenses spared approach. (over $100k invested) Recently, the Atom was tuned to just under 400 HP at the rear wheels which ensures the perfect combination of useable power and a pure adrenaline rush every time it is driven.

In preparation for its sale, the car has been thoroughly gone through with even the most minute details such as decals and wiring loom having been replaced as needed. Additionally, fresh Lexan side panels were recently installed and carbon fiber fenders (not pictured) will also be included with the vehicle. Having only covered approximately 5000 miles since new and needing nothing, this car is ready to be thoroughly enjoyed both on & off the track.
