just found a post on another forum stating that the ball on the OEM hitch is 19.5" high. I called Trailex and Carl said the ball should be 21" with full tongue weight, so with sag taken into account, ideally ball height should be around 23." If that is correct then neither the OEM hitch nor the Invisihitch provides a high enough ball height.

I have ~12K miles on the OEM hitch towing a trailex enclosed with a car. No issues so far. (X5M diffs are not happy though, I'm on my second rear diff and 3 repairs).

Do you have a similar receiver like my pic?

No, mine is very different. That is definitely not OEM.

Thank you, curious as to what it is...
I'm.looking to tow ~6k and it looks flimsy for that but I'm new to the tow thing.

Looks like Invisihitch to me. I do have the part you need (ball mount), but the centering tabs on it that fit into the two groves pictured above were manufactured such that the receiver will not be 100% parallel with the car as it should be. It is just ever so slightly off and not very noticeable, and will still tow fine. I had Invisihitch send me a new one when I discovered the issue, just because it was under warranty and cost me nothing. PM me if you are interested.

That looks like an invisihitch. I have an extra reciever that fits in there. You can then insert a standard 2 1/2 inch square tube hitch with ball mount. That way, you can adjust the ball height by getting the proper rise or drop as needed. Pm if youre interested.

Btw, the round cap on the right side of your picture is the lock. I hope you have the key, otherwise you will not be able to insert or remove the hitch attachment.

PM Sent, I DON'T have the key...do you know if the keys are a universal style, or some individualized cut?
Thanks!

I doubt the keys are universal. I would call invisihitch to see if you can get a new key. Mine has a 3 digit code on the key. Check if your lock has a 3 digit code and maybe they can send you the proper new key.

I have the attachment below. I bought it because I couldn't find my original. By the time it arrived, I had found mine. So this has been in the box, unopened until today.

I paid $86.40 with shipping. Make me a reasonable offer and its yours.

Thanks a bunch for the offer but I need one for actual towing, not just bikes.

Today I got lucky and stopped by a shop that has done tint for me in the past and saw they had trailer hitches now.
Asked the guy about Invisihitch and he previously was a distributor...pulls what I needed right out from under the counter we're standing almost instantly!
Bought it on the spot, now off to the locksmith...

Hey, if you still have the invisihitch bike rack receiver, I would like to buy it from you.

Yes, I'm still interested in your invisihitch bike rack receiver. Let me know how much you want for it.

I will be removing the invisihitch from my 2017 X5 (Lease completed).

Does anyone have interest in purchasing the hitch including the tow adapter and bike adapter? Preferably in NY tri-state to avoid shipping?

I may even be able to remove the factory wiring harness that I installed and include the Tekonsha brake controller.

Any interest??

I'm interested in your extra unused invisihitch bike adapter.

I'm located in PA and interested. My wife just picked up a 2017 x5. Send me a PM or email at BlownM3951@gmail.com if still available.
