Does winch need platform?
Adding a winch to a Featherlite 3110. Is it necessary to raise and/or offset the winch to align with the tow hook? E.g., assume the tow hook is 1 foot off center and raised from deck level. Could the winch be mounted to the trailer deck and centered? Thinking there could be an issue with the tensioned cable dragging against the rear edge of the deck while the car is on the ground.
What is typical for raising and offsetting?

I was going to build my own platform but then I found this one which worked out for me. I had to cut it down a slight bit on the bottom but luckily that also worked out well.

It's a horrible picture I'll try to go down to my trailer and post up some better ones

A scape piece of plywood, if dragging on the back edge of trail deck, can prevent scratches as it rolls up the ramps. Can also raise the trailer front end too, but that then makes the slope to climb higher (past ramps, so maybe a 2 step process raise and then lower once the car reaches the back edge of trailer).
