Featherlite trailer 4926-0024 Race trailer - PIC HEAVY!
As of this evening, I have a deposit riding on this trailer (pics below).
Plan to pick it up later this week. MSRP is about $31k... although these are nearly always discounted and not sold at sticker.
This is a 24' x 8.5 wide x 6'6" tall car hauler w/
Went with this style trailer since it weighs about 3500 lbs and I plan to tow with my '18 Raptor
....I'm not ready to get a F-250 diesel just yet
Yes, the Raptor is not a tow vehicle by design and 1/2 ton... but it's being modified w/:
I've picked up a tow hitch scale to precisely load and set the trailer for proper balance and weight on hitch.
Likely still have to get a WDH w/ sway control for trailer...
Any other thoughts or recommendations to help set me up for success?
I've seen only one review (Positive) from another Rennlister using this same trailer quite successfully w/ his 991 GT3 RS.

Nice. Race Ramps makes some nice ramps that you can use in the trailer to raise the front end of the car enough that the escape door may work. Makes it easier to get to the tiedown points under the front end as well. Works in my trailer. I think they're called trailer mates, I just use the front ones.

Ironic, the Race Ramps for reducing angle of approach to load car into trailer and the Race Ramps Trailer Mates just arrived today.
Ordered a few days ago. I didn't realize Race Ramps are made in Michigan, so it was only one day shipping.
Only issue is the Trailer Mates I ordered/received, only provide a 2" rise.
Guessing the side escape door sits about 15-16" up. Measured my GT3 and it needs 10 1/4" to open.
Even if I ordered larger Race Ramps, the angle of approach would be too much.
Or the length would be quite long.
Not sure yet, but I do have FAL so that should help slightly for entry onto trailer.

Honestly if you can I would try to get a trailer with escape door where you can remove fenders then it won't be a problem. All the modern trailers I see come with this style. If weight is a big concern I am sure if you go minimal on build you can get it light enough.

I know what you're saying. Trust me.
I want to stick with Featherlite... but hate their stupid side escape door height.
Problem is I've contacted 4 of the most popular, high end trailer dealers throughout the country.
I'm willing to pay a transporter to ship so I can broaden the geographical area I can buy from.
None are available right now, and those that are certainly not built the way I want it.
I need the trailer now for a few different reasons. I am not patient either!
Planning to pull the trigger on this one tomorrow.
If I hate it, I will sell or trade down the road.

Ok yeah understand all that - I am impatient too!
One idea - a bit extreme - is you can build in ramps to the floor that go over the fenders and extend over the entire floor. It has the added benefit of giving you a crawl space under the car so you can easily get under there and hook it up properly to trailer.
Also you can do service under there like oil changes, and store things as well.
Its not my idea, my friend had his trailer built out that way.
The big downside is you sacrifice having a big flat floor, which is nice for everything else. It will also add weight ... but anyway, just an idea!

I was looking into that too.
I just might consider something like this...only if I can do it 'lightly'.

Yep that's it exactly! It is pretty handy if you don't mind giving up the flat floor. He stores his tires down under the car, plenty of space under there.
On the weight issue - make sure you get that weight distribution hitch, it will make a huge difference.

Pulled the trigger on the trailer. It's a done deal...no turning back now.
My transporter picked up this morning and will deliver in a few days.
He sent me this pick today as he was leaving.

I have the Rennline tie down kit and the Mac's Pro kit. I found that the Macs hooks will not fit on the front tie downs, they are too close to the body. I bought the special hook tie downs that Rennline sells to go with their fittings on the car. I use the Rennline ends in the Mac's ratchets. They are both 2" webbing so the work together very well. I do like the hook attached to the ratchet on the Mac's, rather than having a length of webbing after the ratchet to deal with.
Sweet trailer BTW, congrats.

Trailer just arrived so I am gonna give it a go soon.
Fronts look pretty straightforward, it's the rears that I am worried about... since they're so far under the car and appear like they'd be hard to reach.
I believe someone here mentioned to get a long vice grip or something similar to make it easier for the rears.
