How to prevent overnight theft of trailer with car on it.

Parking your trailer wisely is the easiest thing you can do to keep burglars from approaching you. Here are some factors to think about when parking:
- Park in a bright area Select a location with good visibility for your trailer, such as close to a street light.
- Cover up your trailer. They won't be interested if they can't see it. Place your trailer against a wall or another car. Nevertheless, it shouldn't be too remote or congested.

You can install a car alarm for your trailer. Your vehicle will sound a warning if someone tries to break in or move it. So that your car cannot be easily reached, place it in an area that is well-lit and close to other trucks. If feasible, choose a lot that has cameras and security personnel.

This only applies to very recent tow vehicles but my 2021 F150 STX with tow package has a feature that if the trailer wiring harness is disconnected from the truck a signal is sent to the Ford Pass app on my phone and a notification pings me, just make sure you give the app permission to bypass Do Not Disturb etc. so you actually hear it. I was honestly surprised/impressed that the trim level of my truck had this option.
Also, stash an AirTag somewhere on the trailer. The battery lasts a year. Maybe put it on the inside of a plastic battery cover or something like that would be better than underneath for Bluetooth radio transmission.

^^Nothing says "don't touch my chit" like a Sig P226 MK 25.^^
If it's good enough for the Navy Seals to carry as weapon of choice, it's good enough to protect my trailer.
I also have a sticker on the back of my trailer that says "Insured and protected by Sig Sauer".
Haven't had an issue yet....

i have an open trailer. i try to park it as others have said against something but that is not always possible. when i can't i use a boot (like the link above from jegs) and i lock the ramps inside my bed.
