Default F150 Diesel

First time ever for Ford. Interested to see what kind of power it will make.

Well if Ram is any indication they don't have the ecodiesel 3.0 as an option in their 2018 1500 anymore (at least as of this writing)

IIRC they also stopped selling them in 2017; something to do with not meeting EPA/emissions or something along those lines.

Correct, it was due to the lawsuit, it also stopped the diesel Jeeps. Ford had their own lawsuit filed yesterday. Guess they are all in the same boat?

Interested in seeing the diesel's tow fuel economy
love the ecoboost except when towing-it is very thirsty when towing

The transmission will still be the problem, even if the diesel is up to the task.

I think it is a ten speed, but the F150 transmissions are just not built to handle the stated tow rating in my experience.

I hear you. I tow approx 7000 lbs, of 12,000 capacity, and my fuel consumption is 2x my non towing consumption.

The F150 does not seem to be included in that lawsuit, only F250 & F350.

Again correct. It is F250 and F350, there is no details on the F150 yet for emissions (that I have seen).

I will say that if their numbers are like Rams for the 1500 Eco Diesel that 27 MPG Ram offered was the single cab, short bed and 2wd. I am betting Fords claimed 30 is the same setup of truck. Add 2 more doors, bigger bed and 4WD betting it will be closer to 24 - 26 (still not bad). Better than my 14 - 18 with my Ram 3500

Available for rear-, four-, and all-wheel-drive F-150 pickups, the 3.0-liter Power Stroke diesel will be offered in the 2018 Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum trims, with SuperCrew trucks able to be ordered with either the 5.5- or 6.5-foot bed and SuperCab trucks with the 6.5-foot bed. Fleet customers can select the 3.0-liter Power Stroke diesel on any trim level of SuperCrew with either bed length and SuperCab trucks with the long bed only.

I understand it's available in all those configurations, I was only speculating that the gas mileage they quoted in the articles I read would be for the base truck not a fully decked out supercrew 4x4 with a 6.5-foot bed.
