overall length
curious as i had never really thought too much about it. what is the deal with overall permissible lengths of motorcoaches and trailers in, lets say, nJ?
i read someplace like 50, 60 feet? that's crazy short for any kind of motorcoach and/trailer.
one dealer, in NJ , who i called, who i know and have bought trailers from said a bunch of jibberish which made no sense and then "if you don't give them a reason to pull you over, you don't give them a reason to break out a tape measure".
when i look online, i sa something that said 50 feet. i must be mistaken.

I will guess in most cases the cops won't bother. But.
A buddy of mine races sprint cars and travels all, over the south and Midwest and based on a friend of his experience keeps his toter and stacker in the rules. A co racer of his was in an accident with his slightly over length setup and a person died in the other vehicle. It was not his buddies fault. But. The out of spec trailer vehicle length is now coming up in a lawsuit that was filed by the other party and insurance is now playing games. Crap situation all around.

The overall length vary wildly by state. Unlike licensing issues, being good to go in your home state won't cut it.

65 foot max in california with out permit
sold my 72 foot toter and trailer for obvious reasons
and yes out here, they pull you over just to measure
and the cops dont laugh when you say things like mine is bigger, or size matters,
your biggest issue is going to be if the trailer is rated over 10k then that is considered commercial
