1993 Porsche Carrera 4 Coupe - Gorgeous Amazon Green and Well Maintained

1 Attachment(s)
For Sale: 1993 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Coupe (Model 964) (VIN: WP0AB2963PS420142) 124,500 miles. Amazon Green, Grey interior, manual, power seats, sunroof.

By 1993, Porsche had the 964 series 911 Carrera fully sorted, and production was limited. Of the 6,226 Porsche 964 coupe models sold in the U.S. starting in 1989, only 520 were produced in 1993. The 1993 C2 or C4 coupes are not often up for sale, and an example as gorgeous and mechanically sound as this one is a rare opportunity.

This air-cooled 1993 Carrera 4 coupe is in marvelous condition inside/out and mechanically, drives incredibly well, and is beautiful to look at. I am selling the car only because I am getting a newer, higher performance 911, and my garage is too small. I am ready to part ways and let another 911 enthusiast love this spectacular car as much as I have. The car is mostly stock, with the following modifications/additions:
  • Eibach lowering springs with Koni FSD dampers (height is 'rest of world' (ROW) RS spec, 1.6" lower than stock)·
  • Weltmeister front strut brace.
  • 17-inch Porsche Sport Classic Wheels (tire size: 255/40R17, 225/45R17) (original 964 Cup Wheels also included)·
  • Autothority DME chip (original chip comes with the car)·
  • Primary muffler bypass (i.e. cup pipe) (sounds great, but quiet around town) (original muffler comes with car)·
  • Continental (German) radio replacement with Bluetooth hands-free connectivity and upgraded speakers.

A Carfax report is attached, showing that I am the third owner. I drove the car about 3,500 miles per year since I bought it in 2011. The car has enjoyed a few DE weekends on the track with the Porsche club, where it was driven respectfully. I have been proactive with maintenance/preservation and beyond the routine, work done in the past 3 years includes:
  • steering rack reconditioned/rebuilt
  • oil breather cover gasket and oil level sensor / oil temp. switch (proactively) replaced
  • replaced oil lines from oil filter through thermostat and forward to front oil cooler
  • valve adjustment, replaced plugs & wires, distributor caps/rotors
  • flushed brake/AWD hydraulics, fluid replacement on front/rear final drive units
  • replaced clutch master & slave cylinders, gas struts on front lid, all 3 drive belts
  • replaced left & right front sway bar end links, oil temp. sensor, O2 sensor
  • removed exhaust, bead blasted, and restored/preserved with black ceramic powder coat
The car looks nearly perfect from 15 feet (the attached photos were taken after a simple hand wash - last wax was a year ago), but of course there are paint blemishes such as around the nose and the wheel well arches, etc. The interior is in great shape with no tears or splits. Power seats and sunroof work well. Known issues: the door switches do not activate the interior lights although they work manually, and the trim strip around the sunroof is worn and is ready for replacement. New oil/filter and the brakes are fresh (flushed/bled and rotors turned with 1.035" remaining rear and 1.078" front. Hawk HP+ Pads at 8 mm rear, new front). The engine is strong and runs perfectly. It is worth noting that by 1993 Porsche had resolved the infamous 964 oil leaks of earlier years, and this car has remarkably few oil leaks.

Maintenance records start at 25k miles and are summarized in an attached table. Extras provided include: Porsche car cover, the original DME chip, the original primary muffler, the original engine undertray, the original radio, complete original tool kit, spare, and air compressor, plus a spare parts bin with various items. I will also include Adrian Streather's book on the 964 - "Porsche 911 Enthusiasts Companion".

In case anyone is wondering why the 964 is for sale, here is my new-to-me 07 GT3. Oh, how I wish I had a bigger garage and could keep the 964 as well. I bet the 964 ends up worth more than the GT3 some day.

that’s a beauty! I’m working on the smaller garage issue with an autostacker. (No affilation and I’m not a sales guy working for them) you only need 110” to stack a 964 and 997 (turbo in my case). If not, GLWS!

Long time lurker and first time poster. The 964 is on its way to the new home in Atlanta. Cannot wait to see it in person.
While waiting to be picked, I got some work done by Storz (Mike and Bob) who did the original PPI and gave a two thumbs up and Dave Imes from Apex Body to take care of the Sunroof and some other minor stuff.
Here is a picture before it went on the truck. Will report the sale details once it is delivered.
