New 2024 Cross Turismo 4

Just picked up the P car for the family.
2024 cross turismo 4
it’s such a great car and the free charging is awesome! Unfortunately the nearest Electrify America is about 7 miles away making it inconvenient at times.
The dealership provided a 110v charger that is so slow at charging.

Which level 2 charger are using and why?

get a 50 or 60 amp breaker into the garage so you can charge at the 40amps setting and it should be enough for normal use. fully charge in about 10 hours. i typically charge from 20% to 80% and if i plug it in when i get home at 6 its typically done by 11pm.

As the other person said, have a home charger installed by an electrician. If you can, get it setup to a 60amp breaker to get a higher charge rate. We personally have a hardwired Tesla Wall Connect charger as the main car being charged is my daughters model 3. We bought the model that is universal so that we could charge our Cayenne hybrid as well and hopefully a Taycan in the near future. There's tons of different chargers out there, but the one we have hasn't had an issue.

We don't even think about it to be honest, plug at night once or twice a week and forget it. Cost is about $5 to fill from a <35 mile remaining charge on the model 3, on the Cayenne probably <.50 cents to charge the small battery.

Couldn't imagine having to go around trying to find chargers or wait in line every time I needed a charge. That would get old fast.

BTW, the Taycan looks great. Going to be an awesome car.

Take a look at the Chargepoint Flex. I’ve used one for >4 years now and it’s been excellent.

Congrats on the car; looks awesome!

Chargepoint flex been using for 2 years with zero issues.
You'll get over the free fast charging :-) For us here in SoCal at least, it's more hassle than its worth.
I'm about 5mi to the closest EA, 12 350 chargers, always slammed busy, and consistently 50% of them offline.
But when they do work they work.

I also use a chargepoint flex. The flex is for when you need to change the amperage as future EVs will allow higher AC charging speeds.

If you happen to have the 19.2 KW AC charger option on the Taycan, then with the flex you can hardwire 100 amps for a 5.5 hr charge at home! Else it's 10 hours at 50 amps.

This is weird. I'm in California and I just bought my Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo yesterday and was given a new Chargepoint home charger which will use a 50 amp breaker. Also they will give me the Porsche 220 charger once they have the new cord due to the recall. No charger should be 110 only.
