NIO bests 918 Ring time, by 11 seconds
6:45, a couple days ago.
..a walk through
The dynamics NIO contends with will be the same for Mission E. I doubt they could do a second consecutive 6:45 lap, but this was a milestone for battery cars. First, drag strips, then quarter miles, Goodwood and production 'Ring records. If Mission E can deliver decent endurance for 15-20 minute DE's, my interest will go up because I don't need more. I would consider a 3.5 second 0-60 car, over a 2.5 (Tesla), if it could keep an extra ~100HP beyond the first 3-5 minutes on the track.

Saw that video the other day and wow.. quite impressive indeed!

Wow. Kind of a creepy sound, like an alien spaceship. No denying the performance though.

Great performance. However for it to count as a "production car" Ring time there should be a required real production run, With a minimum number of cars sold like 500, not just six.

My bother works for these guys. He can't tell me much but he has strong background in battery technology from his days when GM was working the US government at Los Alamos.

As mentioned above not denying the performance or the technical aspects and engineering side of the car and its epic achievement ,,,but I would like a sound track ,,,,the lack of engine noise is disturbing
