Most importantly, is it a water cooled Porsche?

I'm most concerned with one of its more controversial aspects: charging to 80% in 15 minutes at 800 volts. I read something somewhere about the unliklihood of finding a charger with that capacity. I wonder how much it'll cost for my garage and what would be its other electrical requirements?

Still, I'm #1 on my dealers list and I'll stay there.

Roughly 200kW and 240A, so it'll be a big plug and your house probably can't do that. An appropriately-designed supercharging station probably could.

I'm sure there will be some version that you can do at your house, maybe that charges more slowly at your house overnight, but you can still charge quickly in 15min at supercharging station along the highway. No one is going to get a mission E if you can't charge it at your house.

Oh certainly, I just meant that it was unlikely DannieK would be able to get a station that charged that fast for their house. Ballpark 10kW would be doable.

NA or Turbo?

Figured I'd add my two cents!

I clicked the option for the home 250KW diesel powered generator to charge mine. I felt the additional $84,000 was worth it so I could charge it quickly...
Don't worry, I intend to run bio-diesel in it.

Right after you buy it, it will require a replacement battery at a cost of approximately $75,000 plus installation.

They should come up with a cool number designation like, let's say 911E or 912E, oh wait, those are already taken, lol.

@Dennis C: Even with the Porsche tax, that's a bit extreme. It's $75000 *with* the installation :P

You are correct with this question, as part of the significance of the car within the lineage of the 911, is the e will mark a reversal and a return to the air cooled 911 after a 20 year hiatus.

At the same time it will incorporate the technological advancements of the the past 20 years into the new generation of air cooled e 911s, most importantly being the Sound Symposer.
