Default Taycan Wheel Offerings

OK, is it me, or do most of the standard wheel offerings for the Taycan line look a bit "ghetto"? I don't mean to be offensive here, but each of the "aero" wheels just leave me with a somewhat bad taste. I do like the 21" Mission e wheels that are standard on the Turbo S, but even those are not completely true to the Mission e design. The production wheels have five spokes where the prototype wheel from its early show car days had a 6-spoke wheel. So, a few questions:

1. Why does a Mission e wheel selection on a Taycan 4S force a selection of the PSCB brakes as well? What is the link here that would force a different brake setup?
2. I'm reasonably certain that the engineers pursued "aero" wheels to enhance overall battery performance on the car. But must they look so bad? I did see a post here on the forum that substituted the 935 fan wheels on the car. Might be interesting if there were replicas available as the real deal fan wheels are unobtainium!
3. Anyone notice that the standard wheels on the 4S are specified as 9Jx20 ET50 (front) and 10Jx20 ET47 on the rear, but the tire spec is for a 19" tire. Oops!
4. The Mission e wheel specs are listed as 9.5Jx21 ET60 (front) and 11.5Jx21 ET66 (rear). The RS Spyder wheels come close, but miss the offsets by quite a bit. Wonder if there is an "aero penalty" associated with a wheel like the RS Spyder wheel.
5. Has anyone come across after-market alternatives yet?

Curious what others think about the stock offerings and available aftermarket offerings.

These are sort of expensive but might do the trick. Somebody else linked to them in another thread. https://www.hrewheels.com/wheels/vintage-series/935

They don't seem to have much "fan action" as the wheels after which they are fashioned, so might be good for aero characteristics.

I agree with you, the wheels look uninspiring. This is the only one that looks good to me.

With that stated, where did these wheels come from?

Those are the Mission E wheels in optional Satin Platinum. The Mission E wheels are by far the best looking in my opinion.

I also like the Exclusive Design wheels. The Turbo Design wheels have potential but I'd need to see them in person before making a decision.

Nice pic too by the way over on the Taycan forum.

Ok, I see how they are Mission wheels without the black color on the spokes.

On the US site it appears 19 and 19.

Need to see more wheels in real world - the ones in the picture below are rendered chrome / silver, but descriptions says gloss black.....

More important, on the UK car configurator the 20" aero wheels have better range than the 19". Go figure....

If you don't like the wheels, you can configure a car without them!

I do like the Mission E wheels in Arum or Satin Platinum. Otherwise, not feeling any of the wheel choices. I shouldn't be surprised, Porsche wheel designs have been diverging from my tastes for a little while now. Except the GT wheels.

So I hope the 20" Turbo Aero wheel is as depicted in the pictures included in the configurator. That's what I am ordering! Dealer advised me that they have an allocation for me NOW, with a Lock Date of 11-Nov! Yes!!

It seems like now you can add the Taycan Design Wheels without having to order the upgraded coated brakes but not on the Mission E wheels. Seems like a lot of money to be forced to buy both the Mission E wheels and the coating. I have asked my dealer why I can get the Taycan Design wheels (fan like wheels) and not the Mission E without the brake coating. Anyone else hear if you can now get the Mission E wheels without being charged almost $3500 for the brakes?
