Nothing like what I saw 11 short months ago at Parade in south-central Missouri:

I like the front. Back is a bit boring and it needs wider hips. Side profile looks just like a Panamera. I'm assuming they had to raise the roofline for head room. But that makes it look more sedan and less sports car. I'll need to see it in person or a video to make a real judgement. But my initial reaction is meh. The Audi GT concept looks better and much more aggressive.

This is interesting. It's almost the same article, both penned by Georg Karcher, but with different edits. See this thread, where I pointed out that Georg also writes for Car:

Guess we will disagree.
Is it as cool as the concept? No. Nothing like it? I disagree there. I think it looks way more like the concept than a production Panamera. And a lot more like the concept than I frankly expected it to.
Also, I believe that this is still a rendering. A damn good one, and probably pretty close, but still a rendering. I don't think that Porsche would let Car scoop it this early. This is the July Issue, and Frankfurt's still over 2 months away.
I'll reserve judgement until I see proven high res photos at the least, and in person. The differences are subtle, but they can be lost in photography....and in Photoshop.

I think it will be great - it has to be! Otherwise Tesla is winning - so far _NO ONE_ has any decent competition for Tesla - and it's looking bleak! Porsche has to hit this one out to the park otherwise someone has to admit Tesla isn't completely screwed up.

Yes it does. And how will they make it sound like a 911 rather than my wife's sewing machine?

Hell, even new 718’s sound like ****. I’d rather listen to my Tesla.
But its a sedan, not a sports car. You’d be surprised how little you care about the sound when driving one.

1. where are you going to service your car, and how long will repairs take?
2. how do you like the styling, fit and finish?
3. don't you worry about how long tsla will exist?
4. what do you do for service when the tsla goes t*ts up (it's inevitable)?
5. what good is a warranty from a bankrupt mfr?
6. we'll start worrying when tsla sells a well built, good-looking car and is bought out by a well-capitalized car company that already has infrastructure to meet the needs of demanding buyers.
