^^ THIS!!!

I like the looks. Can live without suicide doors, but I still think those doors made the show car a real stunner. Glad I am on the list at Autobahn in Fort Worth. And I really like the blue color too!

That's a strange render - I've seen that with different wheels, and even suicide doors photoshopped. I'm sure the lines will be much more dramatic - closer to the white "version" we see in all the marketing materials.

Obviously a render. And I hope the real thing looks better than that.

If those are actually the real production wheels, Porsche has really gone off the deep end. Those are the ugliest wheels I've ever seen on a car.

This render looks better than those mules running around testing.

If the Taycan looks like a glorified Panamera I will be cancelling and holding onto my Sport Turismo hybrid for longer. I like the idea of electric only but a big reason I like the Taycan is it looks more sports car than sedan. The concept is one of the best looking cars in recent history. The new Panamera's look great, but no where near the beauty of the Mission E concept.

Aero wheel covers. I wonder if they are like the 18" wheels on the Model 3 - where you can easily pull the covers off and there is a nice looking wheel inside. (Takes about 5 seconds per wheel to pull the aero covers off on the Tesla. Then they sell a little kit with lug nut covers and small center caps to dress the wheels up.) Over on the TMC forum folks have surmised that the aero caps give about another 4% highway range vs. taking them off.

Well the rims under those covers on the Model 3 look awful, so that doesn’t ease my concerns. Why can the Model S get by without goofy wheels? Seriously, if Porsche teases with that beautiful Mission E and then delivers this abortion, they’re lost somewhere in the woods.

Between the ugly pics of the 992 and now this, I is sad for Porsche.

At one time, the Model S did have an aero wheel option. It was a whole wheel design, not just caps. The option wasn't very popular and was discontinued. I've only seen one Model S in the wild that has had them.

Nice thing about wheels is that if you don't like them, it is generally easy to replace them with something from the aftermarket.

Why can't they just put a real engine in this thing and sell it as the Panamera alternative for those of us that wouldn't mind a smaller 4 door sports car ???

I look at that latest picture and I’m reminded of that scene from the John Carpenter version of The Thing when they flamethrower the guy with the alien inside him but his head falls off and sprouts spider legs and crawls away and the guy with the flamethrower says slowly in an exasperated voice with a heavy Brooklyn accent...‘you’ve gotta be f$!&ing kidding me...’. I’m that guy.

Nice to see the contoured roof from the concept has returned (based on spy photos, not this awful render). The interim mules had me believing that had been shelved. Not worried about the wheels, because this is Porsche, and they know how to provide options.
