Spyders in the Wild...

That is a decision that drove me nutzz. I went a bit crazy this year, and woke up one day to discover that I had two Caymans and one Spyder. Just giving the Drei Amigos regular exercise made me anxious (they don't like to just sit there). So I made the painful decision to sell two and keep one (of course, the Spyder!). First to go was the Cayman 2.7 - it was an absolute sweetheart of a car, I ordered it fully optioned, and the Rhodium Silver/Natural Leather Garnet Red made for what I think is the most gorgeous looking Cayman. First person to come look at it bought it on the spot.
So then I am down to two. The Cayman GTS is basically my daily driver, not that I do much daily driving as I am what the Brits call an OAP (old age pensioner). The GTS is a monster - I think it wants to kill me. So it is now up for sale at a rather high price (since I *really* do not want to sell it).
The Spyder is my special purpose car. At least once every two weeks when I get the hairy flatters, it gets a good run on my favorite back roads (we are delightfully empty here in the provinces). The GTS is reserved for the hardware runs to Lowes. Even though the 987 Spyder has pretty much the same performance envelope as the 981 GTS, somehow it seems more user friendly - a Labrador Retriever to the GTS's Doberman. Perhaps because it is more analogue. The Spyder inspires affection, where the GTS inspires respect. So the Spyder is The Keeper.
Anyone looking for a Carmine Red GTS - wink, wink; nudge, nudge? It's over on a Rennlist Sales thread.

Hi guys, I've spent a little time in the 964 section of RL, however I'll be stopping by here as I'm now the proud owner of a black 987 Spyder. And since there's not enough "wild" in this thread, here are a couple of shots from a recent road trip with my wife in the 964. 2,500km all up from Sydney to Bellingen and back. Don't be afraid to get em dirty!
And then all cleaned up at a local meet in Sydney the following weekend
