Spyder inventory update
Hard to believe it's been a month since the last thread was started on this subject. At the time, there were 125 Spyders on the ground or inbound according to the dealers' websites. From my count that number is down to 85.
There were 50 Spyders sold in September, for a total of 410 so far in the US.

I don't have any insider information; all I have is from the internet, so take it for what it's worth.
That said, the sales data is from Rennlister MJones, who reliably posts it monthly on other Rennlist boards. September Spyder sales increased more than 6% from August, representing almost 1 of 10 Porsche sports cars sold. This while September Porsche sports car sales are down 15% overall from August, and almost 50% from September of last year.
Porsche sells as many cars as they can. I think we will see more allocations for January production and beyond, up until the factory re-tools for the next generation.

Alan you can take one more off your inventory list. I purchased one this Saturday. I wish I had known about the Spyder sooner, such a joy to drive. Better late than never I guess.

Quick search on Autotrader shows around 40 manual Spyders (not all dealers put their inventory on Autotrader but it is a start) and out of those, I saw 4 with sport buckets before I gave up looking at individual pictures.
Here's a black one with sport buckets and sport exhaust in Ohio (a little far away from So Cal).

Aqua blue metallic/sand beige full leather sport seat, PCM with extended nav,
bi-xenon, PDK, heated front seats, sound package plus, climate control, bluetooth, paddle shifters and universal audio interface. No pics yet, car is still filthy from the drive up.
Anyone have suggestions on routine maintence? Should I change the oil and filter after the break in period? Oil and filter change every 10,000 miles? Thanks.

Decided on a 3.8rs after all. Found some good deals out there and I was able to get one with my preferred specs. Thanks for the Spyder help. Betting that the LE version will be significantly more $. Further, will be at least a couple of years before the next gen. 3 rs shows up so it's on the way....
