OK, guess I read that wrong. Thought I was the only one paying to much for them. $500-700 is what I see them for also. Install costs for me are cheap, so your math doesn't work for me, but I understand where your coming from.

So is the consensus that SPBs need a transmission replacement every 5 race weekends (10hrs?) on average? Still can't wrap my head around this.

Nope. I hate to jinx myself but mine is at about 40 weekends.
