Default Adjusting parking brake (986S)

I'm having some trouble adjusting the parking brake on my 986RC.
Problem is standard procedure has you adjust shoes through log bolt holes; however, I have racing studs, so I have to take the rotor off each time I adjust the shoe distance.
That is compounded by the fact that I have new rotors and pads on the car, so the brakes are 'tight' and I can't feel when the P-brake shoe just engages.

Thus, I think I need to remove the brake pads, then go through the iterative adjustment process for the P brake shoes removing the rotor at each iteration, then once adjusted put back in the pads.

Any easier approach this this????

Are you saying that your rear rotors do not have the normal holes in them through which the e-brake is adjusted? What rotors are you using?

Sebro rotors and racing studs in the holes.

I suspect you have the following options:
  • machine a hole for adjustment in the stock location. may have some slight effect on balance.
  • remove the parking brake - race cars don't have parking brakes
  • find a different rotor
I think you'll find adjusting the parking brake with your proposed on-and-off method to be a real pain. Might work... Good luck!
