New to the party
I am building (or should I say having built) a spec Boxster. My first proper racecar. Very excited. I went more than a bit overboard with my build! It won't be cheap -but it will be "all new." I am pretty green with only 2 seasons of HPDE and 1 Endurance Race. Here is a picture of my '99 donor with the cage in it. I have others, but seem to be battling the ability to attach them. Anyhow, see you all soon! I'll be the guy you are lapping but I'll have a huge grin on my face.

Welcome, David. Tons of good racing here in CA. Where are you located?

Hi all,
Location
Location
- Socal - very West Los Angeles
Races (2019 schedule so far)
- Lucky Dog in mid- Jan (not this car)
- Handful of POC races (still working towards my license with them)
Can’t get those shocks anywhere. Rolled the dice on Ohlins to get the car rolling. Hope we see exceptions on this for the class or the manufacturer sorts it out
soon. Not worried about it short-term because I can’t do anything other then fence sit some more.
Car is so full of cheats RN it’s gross.

Tarett has a set of PSS9s for sale. One is new in the box, one is freshly rebuilt and the other two were taken off a car and are fine. Call Ira at Tarett if you're interested.

It's done. Next step: Shake down track day
To Do List:
I didn't skimp on my build. I'm pretty sure I paid near or top of the market for my build. What I do know is that I am a satisfied customer. I wasn't anxious about the build. I trusted in the experience of the builder. That's a big deal for me because I'm the type of guy that makes spreadsheets for his spreadsheets. The type of guy that will over-analyze anything given the chance. I did some homework. Most of it from this very thread. Many thanks to all of you for putting in time to share your experiences about Spec Boxsters with us plebes. The install is clean. It "sounds" fun. I laughed and smiled when I fired her up in the shop. I am trusting in my belief that Vali has built a ton of cars and hauls many of them to the POC events and beyond. And... above all is that my cousin Branimir had his car built by Vali. He seems happy with that decision and was willing to spend hours of time sharing with me the ins and outs of his personal experience with me. Thanks, cousin, for your constant generosity!
I don't have the FU money to run the car as much as I want this year. Taxes are brutal this year and I am still in bit of a shock about it. I also still need to get my Time Trials done with the POC before I can actually get out and properly club race. It's a long-term goal. Regardless. I wanted to circle back and share like so many of you have. She is beautiful and I am in love.
- Racing Mirror
- Light smoke on the headlamps (The yellowing from age bugs me. Yes, I know this won't make me go faster.)
- Wheels and tires (it's sitting on shop tires so it can be moved around)
- Steering Wheel Hook
- Raise the shifter up a bit
- Cool suit install (wired for it already)
- Radio Install
- Shakedown track day

In the first six months, you will spin the SPB often. It will kinda sorta do what you want... up to a point. Then it will rebel. A friend told me it was like having a beautiful Hispanic girlfriend. A dream until you upset her, then she will kill you in your sleep. Treat her gently. Learn what she likes. Avoid what upsets her.

I'm still looking for a few seconds to keep up with the experienced folks -- but boy do I love driving the SPB!
I married an Irish red-head -- she's more akin to my 75 911 RSR :-) but I'll never be bored!
