Default Bolt on Exhaust for SPB?

Any know of a vendor who sells a bolt on spec boxster exhaust system (straight pipe or with resonators/mufflers)? Looks like AWE did at one point, but not seeing much out there on google. What you have been using or what's the typical design? 2.25"? Straight pipe?

I don’t know if they are typically stocked or made to order but Lucas fab, fabspeed, and Patrick motorsport each offer a bolt on system. There are others (AWE?). Most are just over $1000.

I’m wondering about just doing a 2.25” straight pipe system and perhaps having an X near the exit. I understand the X (or H) is worth a bit of power on this platform.

We have a bolt on system for SPB, with either of the following options: straight pipe, muffled, or both (swap-able).

You can also check with Robbie Provost at Provost Motorsports in Bordentown, NJ. They have a great exhaust system that they fabricate in house. 609-298-3555.

I made my own, not too difficult if you have a welder. I opted for some fairly open turbo mufflers to quite the sound a bit.

I was thinking of going the old Dune buggy route if I decide to make the SPB street legal.

I also have a set of supertrapps I might dig up if I need it for on track use too.

What size piping/mufflers is that?

Looks good - did you just use the stock flanges and weld the wider tube on? or did you source other flanges?

The exhaust on a SPB will easily rob power if done incorrectly. Flow and path are extremely important.

Pick an exhaust with only mandrel bends and that has a very smooth path inside. I have dynoed several types and was amazed the differences small things could make.

Yes, cut the stock flanges off and welded on the new tubing.

Did you notice if an H/X pipe did much? I’ve read somewhere on here it’s thought to be worth 4-5 whp. If true I’ll be considering that.
