Default Lexan windshields

I need to replace my windshield and since I'm over 100 # over weight, I'm thinking Lexan. How much does the OEM glass weigh? How much of a PITA is it to clean vs glass and how hard to avoid scratches and scrapes? I see some that are comperable in price to glass. Can anyone recommend a vendor?

We get ours from fivestarbodies.com. Fit is perfect on the 44s, can’t speak for Boxsters. easy to clean with Plexus, but they do scratch.

I also had one from five star on my old spb and it fit perfectly. Weight savings at most is maybe 10lbs if that. I had 1 full season on mine and it held up pretty good but did get some light pitting. I’d recommend adding a tear off while your at it.

Shields with rain coat on outside and anti-fog on inside. Magic.

Well, that would cut down on the swearing when I can't find the rag I had shoved between my leg and the seat.

Try shaving cream instead. Works like magic.

Tom Stone has one on his Spec Boxster. He says it saved him 9 lbs. From Five Star.
