I think you'll find the SPB/BSR rules require it to be mounted anywhere BEHIND the front axle if you're racing.

What page of the club racing rules would that be on?

Good question! I can find nothing in the PCA rules. There is a stipulation in the POC rules, and I had assumed (erroneously it would seem) that the same applied to PCA. Even then, the POC is not exactly as I thought. It states:
"The transponder mounting position is open, however, transponder cannot exceed eight inches forward of the front axles' vertical axis".

Sorry about that. In my defense, I did say "I THINK you'll find..."

with that answer, you are telling me that your front bumper only extends less than 8" of your front axle vertical axis

Was not trying to call you out, just wanted to know if I missed something in my reading of the rules, especially given the position of my transponder. Remember, whoever's transponder crosses the finish line first WINS!

I mounted mine in front of left front wheel in front of wheel liner, attached to bracket that supports bumper cover and radiator cooling fan (removed). There is an opening in the under-panel that allows unobstructed view of pavement below.
