911 4s vs GTS - PLEASE HELP (Forget it ordered TURBO!!!!!!)
Hello All! First post. Im finally in a financial position to purchase a new 911.
I've been debating for years but nows the time....
I have a budget of 150 Can Dollars.
I'm torn between a 4S with PDK and sports package or a Rear Wheel GTS with PDK.
These are so close in price...... The dealer is pushing for GTS they say resale will be better but I love the spyder rims which aren't avail on GTS and the 4S would have rear wheel steering included in the sports package.
I would add Rear wheel steering to the GTS and add PSM to the 4S.....
What do you guys recommend?????
Either way I'm super pumped.... I wanted Lava Orange for years but Wife and Son are pushing for Black.

Canandian dollars eh?.....are you planning on driving in any amount of snow where the AWD would perhaps be useful?

I think the GTS is the more sporty, but the 4S is certainly no slouch. If winter driving is in the plan, the 4S might be the better way to go. But with a good set of winter boots the GTS would also be fine on most winter roads. I see a few 911's on the road in Calgary over the winter, both AWD and RWD versions. Its a first world problem for sure. No real right or wrong choice. The 4S is more complicated and could cost more to operate down the road, if you plan on keeping the car long term. Good luck, let us know what you decide.

I'm in the same boat only I'm a year away.
I think GTS RWD with RWS would be my pick.
I kind of think AWD will be great too, but I drove a AWD Turbo (while back) and it just seemed almost too stable.
Either one is great, that's why the cost is same/similar.
I love the looks of center lock wheels also, I hear they are a PITA to change, but I guess that's a price you pay for better looks.
If me I'd get GTS and if you really want AWD just find the extra money somewhere.
Also I'm looking at GT3 but lack creature comforts and less usable as DD also GT3 costs way more.

Here's how it boils down to me based on what you said. You can weight the importance of these to you and your driving style/needs and add up the scores. Both are widebodys so that is a wash.
My color vote would be for Carmine Red. I saw a Cayman with it recently and it was gorgeous in the sun! I had looked at an orange GTS in the dealer's showroom and didn't like the clash of the orange vs the red taillights myself, but you could opt for the darkened or clear tail lights to fix that.
- Will your driving style benefit more from the RWS or the extra power? Similarly, will you really ever use the extra power, or push the handling limits to benefit from AWS? Only you can answer these.
- Importance of the Spyder Wheels (Can you opt for 5 lugs on the GTS and still get them?)
- Importance of resale - From what I've seen on 997 and 991 GTS's the resale stays substantially higher.
- Importance of the perceived panache of the GTS and its street cred

Have a good look at the Alcantera(GTS)....some like it and others (me) don't. If youre not driving it in the winter...GTS IMO. Be careful with options as many wont affect your day to day driving. If youre going to track it, thats different. Pretty good problem/decision to have!! Pfaff? Downtown?

I LOVE my black 4S but its a pig to keep clean and it shows rock chips clearly and brightly - so budget to get paint protection before you drive it off!
But when its clean and polished it looks magnificent. Black tips. Black wheels.
Beast!
