Default Tire ballance question.

I just had the road rash corrected and wheels painted on my summer wheels. Since the road rash has been corrected, do the tires/wheels need to be re-balanced before going on the car?
Thanks

Unless the road rash was extreme, with chunks of the wheel knocked out, then probably no. Balancing should not be needed.

OTOH, even with light road rash, if the tire was removed and reinstalled during the fix, then yes, you need a rebalance. I'm not talking about just breaking the bead, I'm only talking about if the tire was taken off the wheel and put back.

Thanks Iceter,

The road rash was minor and the tire did not come off the rim.

This. If you notice any handling difference like a shaking at speed then get the wheels rebalanced. Otherwise save your money.

Thanks everyone, they are my summer rims/tires. I'm putting them on the car next week. I'll listen/feel for signs and symptoms mentioned above. Just thought I'd ask before I put the wheels on the car for the summer.
