Default 991.2 GT3 reviews thread.

Does anyone know when Porsche will start releasing press cars for review? I believe at the beginning of next month, right?

They won't "release" press cars into the fleet initially.

There will be a press launch to which "premier" journalists will be invited (e.g. Chris Harris, Andrew Frankel, Georg Kacher, someone from DriveTribe, various European freelancers who will sell their piece to domestic magazines), and their stories will be embargoed until a later date. One or two might get special treatment and get to film a video or do a ride along beforehand (e.g. Chris Harris with the 991.1 GT3).

Later on there will (probably) be a subsequent event tailored to lesser / North American journalists, although probably still in Europe for the GT3. Then into press fleets.

I have multiple friends who are journalists who've never had an opportunity to drive a GT3 (apart from the ones I've owned).

I have to believe many journalist have already driven the car. No point in delaying making the cars available once it was introduced. I expect reviews starting early May.

BTW, I don't expect effusive praise like the .1GT3. The .2 will have more low end torque and incremental performance parameters.

The press event days was in May for the RS, if I remember correctly.

Things like:
"The low end torque transforms the GT3 into a total monster!!!!"

I do not know. Different engine. AP said the engine now starts pulling harder at a lower rpm- 4000 when the .1 GT3 really kicked it at 6000 to redline. This will be a very interesting review. Remember - this is not the RS/R with an 8600 redline

^ Same cars in the photo posted by ChicagoM4. Wonder if any of them are manual...

Edit: Looks like the yellow car is.

Can't wait to see the reviews.

In this video, the car sounds very similar to the 991.1:

Practically the same engine as the RS so no shock that it sounds the same
