Default 991.2 GT3 will come with "Touring Package" option

Take a look at this screenshot of the German configurator courtesy of greggt3.

This shows the clubsport option that is available in some countries.

The interesting part is is on line 5, the clubsport option is "nicht in Verbindung mit der Option Touring-Paket (Bestell-Nr. 039)"

ie You cant order the Clubsport option in combination with the Touring Package option (order number 039).

Whilst this text has now been removed (according to Chris3963 who checked), the fact that the touring package has its own order number indicates its more than just a concept, it is something that is coming but not yet announced.

The interesting thing for me is why you cant order the clubsport option in combination with the touring package. Is it that the options just dont make sense? (ie why would you need a rollcage on a "touring" car)?

Or is it that the rollcage would get in the way of the back seats in the touring package???? (I must admit to some bias here, I really, really want a GT3 with back seats)

An easy sell to any wife. Hey honey, it's a family car. See, the kids can fit in the back.

I would not be opposed to rear seats as an option. Looks pretty empty back there now and kind of a waste unless you want a cage.

Will probably be released to great fanfare when GT3 sales start to slow a bit. Hey, I'll be a buyer!

Disagree. I use my GT3 for long trips with my girlfriend and the space behind the seats is key. She'd never survive a 5 day trip with only the frunk space.

If you're up are traveling two up, Rear seat space can be used as storage with little impact vs no seats.

Wait What....There will be a GT3 Touring edition - what is this? I never knew Porsche had GT3 Touring editions planned.

I keep seeing this in other 991 threads about Touring edition. Can someone elaborate and fill me in

I wouldn't be opposed to the GT3 having OPTIONAL rear seats. Seems counter-intuitive to have a GT3 with rear seats but even it's spiritual older brother 1973 Carrera RS had rear seats on the Touring equipped non-lightweight cars. So it wouldn't be a first time a track oriented car from Porsche had rear seats.

I would definitely get an GT3 if it had optional rear seats and use it alongside my 991RS and 996cup as a tour and Ring car. What an awesome allround package that would make. However, I though the chassis is single layer and cannot be used in the back to mount belts and carry passengers (though with my son's feather weight the latter would not be a real issue).

it will be nice if the touring package deletes the wing..

not that i hate the wing, but it will give it a pure touring look..

Maybe a duck tail

Lol, I want my 911 to have no back seats...gives me more room to put bags and even spare tire.

To me the back seats are totally useless (again it is relative to each one's use)....I do hope the touring package is without the wing and without rear seats so I can drive in the city happily.

My Dealer told me there won't be a 039 touring option.
It was cancelled and it did not feature a wingless gt3.
Back seats option
