Default Greg Brown New Bosch alternator

In a recent post, Greg Brown announced a new Bosch Alternator was available for our cars. Can't find the post. Anybody try it? What was your experience with it?

Mine is starting to fade, so this may be in my future....

Not available quite yet.

Having a new case CNC machined, so it will be a direct fit, without any hardware changes, to our 928s.

Perfection takes time.

Does it look like this one? I've not seen Gregs yet and I hope it performs as good as this one.

Hi Sean,
Alternator looks great. How is the charging ( what is the voltage at jump post) at 800 RPM?
Thanks,
Dave

14.43 with everything cranked up at idle. 170 amps. 270amp at cruise with voltage the same.

"Bigger" retracted.

I've never seen an alternator that will put out 170 amps at idle.

And definitely never seen one that will put out 270 amps total!

I don't know what kind of belt you are using to drive that thing, but 150 amps will cause a factory belt to protest.

Greg my 84 is in need of more power. It has the stock electric fan. When the AC is on and then fan kicks in the voltage plumetts ! Will your alternator be available for a 84 ?
