Leaking Oil Filler Neck
I've had it with the factory design. Looking carefully at it, it's clear that it was designed to fal. THat little channel sits *inside* the block's opening, meaning that oil is forced into it. Besides that, what keeps oil in? About a 1/64th thick plastic ridge which is prone to slight warpage anyway.
I don't think I've everseen one that didn't leak.
Anyway ... I cut myself a very nice thick gasket from excellent oil gsket material (we're taling 1/64th thick) ... and I'm planing on omitting the stupid fctory seal, and filling that little ridge with non-hardening sealant. Then the gasket, then a thin layer of non-hardening oil-resistant stuff again

I suggest to use Hondabond on the new O ring and then whatever other parts your using to put on the oil fill tube,
NOTE 928 INTL makes a n oil block off plate this will also reduce the oil being sent back to the bottom of the spout.
Done more than a few of them this way no leaks

Drei Bond 1209 + 928Intl oil filler neck baffle = no oil leaks at the filler neck.

Has anyone put the metal neck on an S4 or GTS? I know the hose connections would be different, but curious if it fits under the later-design manifold ...
My plastic filler neck split at the seam (apparently made in two parts and stuck together) and it was disgusting to spend $70 to put in another one knowing it will eventually come apart again ...

Everyone I change out, I use the early style gasket, the thick paper one. Put a bit of Victor Reinz goo on each side and bingo, no more leaking.

that plate stops the oil from hitting the bottom side of the filler tube and if you use a generous amount of HB on both sides of the plate and the lower edge of the fill tube it should be dry from now on

I have a nice pooling of oil in the valley; how can I determine if my plastic filler neck is split?
hoping this can be done with intake in place?

The problem is not the plastic neck, it’s the seal & the fact that nobody torques this down properly. As the metal & plastic heat at different rates it is crucial that it not be over-torqued. Personally I find the stock seal adequate but stupid. I use self made paper gasket with proper torque. Works perfectly.

The plastic necks will warp ‘up’ at the corners. Nothing will stop it from warping. Over-torqued bolts will greatly accelerate the warping.
New filler necks will leak at the seems at the top of the neck unless you pull them apart and thoroughly ‘re-goo’ them.
