Ok, so thinking about buying some used e88 18" barrels and lips form a 997 cup and then sourcing faces to try to make them work on my 996 gt3. The problem is that the barrels and lips come to 9.5" front and 12" rear. So here is the dumb question. There is no way this is fitting without serious non-street friendly mods (like modifying fenders, big camber, etc), right? Is there any combination I could employ with available 18" bbs e88 faces that could make it possible work? Or are they just too dang wide?
Second question...if they can't work for the gt3, could they work for the 996 gt2 with the right faces? Thanks! I'm typically a "stock wheel" kind of guys so all this stuff with the three-piece wheel combinations is very new to me and somewhat confusing!

@ScottArizona Scott, check the E88 thread here in this forum. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-gt2-...yre-sizes.html There is some good information on which centers work. And there is a difference between the GT3-compatible center and those for the Turbo. I think there is a spreadsheet in that thread that details which combination of inners, liters and centers produces what offset.

I run a 18x12 rear and 9 front in my mk1 car at gt3 height. Im betting with the correct et it would work. Depending on tire size the fronts may rub?
hmmm...I wish they were just a tad bit narrower front and rear. They are in the classifieds CHEAP so if someone else wants to make a run at this, I think I'm going to pass.
Interesting. Does bbs make a 2.5" lip for the rear 18's? The combo that is for sale features 3" lip with 9" barrel.
Another question is, can the 997 wheels be drilled to 5 lug? I’m not sure whether the spoke design allows it. I have only seen someone on these forums run them with a center lock conversion.
Would it be safe to assume that most of these Porsche specific figments that are 5 lug will be drilled with R14 ball taper to accept Porsche specific hardware and not a conical one?
I've set up literally dozens of E88s over the years on various 996 variants. I have 5 sets for my own car.
For a 6GT3, you can do 9/11.5 for an easy bolt on set up. I've done 9/12 on a 6GT3 also without too much trouble. You can do a 9.5 in the front with a careful choice off offsets and 2.25" diameter springs. On a 6GT2, a 9/12 is an easy peasy bolt on. 9.5/12 is again doable with certain precautions. I run a 10/12.5 but that requires modding beyond what is practical on a street car.
