Default Cross-country drive in the Macan

I am moving from NJ to CA this fall. Planning on driving since I have never done it because, why not.. 2025 GTS with ~30,000 miles by the time I leave. Will have new tires, kept up with regular service. Anything else I should check/prep before the trip? Also, open to recommendations on routes, must-see kitschy roadside attractions, safety tips, etc.

Quite a broad question. I routinely drive back and forth from Northeast Ohio to Evergreen Colorado 4-5 times a year; your car will be fine. For planning, sites etc, check out Roadtrippers.com. Enjoy the ride!

Take an OBDII scanner. I drove my 350Z to Florida a couple of years ago and it started misfiring. I had to strop at a gas station and pay them to read the codes.

It is a big country. Tell us what you want to do or see or eat. It is all there for you.

Car needs nothing special. The OBD II reader is a good call.

As for things to see, take a route through the southwestern states. The whole region is amazing. Stop in Santa Fe NM for the food. The restaurants are top notch.

Just drive. In the 1960s I drove a TR4 from Chicago to New York, and Chicago to LA. A decade later I drove a VW bus Costa Mesa to Cabo and back.
Compared to those, a Macan is bulletproof.

Done it 5 times, 911 and Wife's CLK550. There are cities along the way to avoid going through. Been in the news a few times.
Plan a go around and drive by in the early hours before the zombies wake up.

The zombies will be waiting for him in LA if he's going there in CA.
