Default 2012 S serpentine belt and bits

I have everything to replace the serpentine belt and all the related bits on my 2012 S, looked at a Pelican article on the process, seems pretty straight forward. Anyone have any additional advice for the job? Seems like you just need to make room and dig in...

Does Pelican say to remove the cooling fan assembly? If not, I probably would. Easy enough and will give you plenty of room to work. You'll want/need a vacuum fill tool for refilling the coolant. The cheap $25 Amazon ones work fine. Tensioner is a 30mm socket on a breaker bar. Pay attention to how the little bracket on the lower tensioner bolt is oriented. I recently did the timing chain on my turbo and that bracket had me stumped for a bit.

They say to remove the radiator shroud, no need to get into the cooling, but I think it's a bit more complex with the turbo. Because, yeah.

Thanks for the info.

On an S it's super easy - just undo the tensioner and off the belt goes.
On a turbo v8, it's far more involved:

Thanks for the vid. I am going to replace the tensioners and pulleys as well, one is starting to make a bit of noise, seems pretty simple to do.

I got busy with another car, didnt get into this over the weekend, but if you remove the fan shroud you should have enough room to get it done. In these pics they show the coolant hoses removed, but just for clearer pics, you dont need to remove them on the S.

it's a real nuisance with the turbo. You have to pull a load of hoses off and empty the coolant. Took me ages, and really hard to get the air out of the system afterwards.
