I recently bought a 2010 Cayman for track duty and am trying to find a suitable 200 treat-wear tire that will fit on my 18 inch rims and not throw off the ABS or other issues.
The original size is front 235/40/18 rear 265/40/18; front diameter 25.4& rear 26.3 front rims 8" rear 9"
Looking to see if i can fit a set of RE-71RZ tires they have the fronts 235/40/18 but the closest rear diameter tire is a 275/35/18 tire that is smaller at at 25.6.
Wonder if anyone has ran that combo on a Cayman base without any ABS issues?
I've been running 255/35 (25" dia) and 275/35 (25.6") on 18's for years, autox and track days on a 2011 S. Never a peep from the PSM or ABS. The extra front width also gives a little more bite. Mostly Bridgestones. I am running a 10" wheel in the back though.

did you get any tire rubbing up front? are you on stock suspension? I would think that the 275's should work on the 9 inch rims that i have in the rear. Not as good at 10's but not ready to jump into the deep end of the pool on total track set up.

I'm running R-S4s on track in 245/40 and 275/35 on my 2.9L, camber is -2.0 at both ends, with SPC adjustable front LCAs and a 22mm RSB. I don't think the ABS is very sensitive to small changes in f/r tire diameter, although larger changes would affect the braking balance.
