Default In boots and all.

Hi All,

I have dived into 993 ownership so I thought I'd better come and hang out here a bit.

I live in Western Australia, Mandurah to be exact just south of Perth, I have been a Porsche owner for many years, mainly Impact bumpers cars but also brief encounters with a 997 Turbo and a 981 Cayman S. I just sold my 911 SC hotrod as I think 993 ownership is a better way forward for me, what I have come across and am in the middle of purchasing is what could be described as a 993 C2S, I say could be because it didn't start life as a C2S, it was a relatively normal manual 1996my C2 that was delivered to Aussie motorbike ace of the time Anthony Gobert, who unfortunately promptly crashed it. Instead of repairing the original car a 993 Turbo body in white was ordered from the factory and everything was transferred over to that shell, it got the turbos suspension and brakes too creating what could be called an early C2S, but I guess really a Turbo Look Carrera, does anyone know if that was an option for 993s then?

Anyway, I'll keep you all posted on what I discover once I get the car home and up on a hoist later, should be interesting.

Cheers,

Phil

Getting to grips with this forums systems.
Here is the new car, bit of sad news, I Googled Anthony Gorbert and it mentioned he passed away in 2024 at the age of 48, which means he was only about 20 when he first received this car. I'll have to do justice with this car in his honour.
Cheers,
Phil
