Default Case cast date?

I’ve searched around and while I found out the location and decode of the m96 head cast date marking I could not find anything about whether the case halves have cast dates in them and where that may be found. Does anyone know?

Background - the heads in my March 2003 C4S (door sticker) with first sold date of June 20, 2003 show a cast date of November 11, 2003 - so clearly they were not in the car when it was first sold. The engine number is from 2004 (M96/0366408445) and I’m trying to ascertain the history. When I bought the car some 8 years ago the previous owner told me that the engine was replaced by Porsche after it had repeated issues with the RMS.

The car was serviced by Sonnen Porsche - unfortunately they were bought out by Indigo and they tell me they have no records there of previous Sonnen Porsche work. Any help in my detective work would be appreciated.

My understanding is that if Porsche replaced engine on our 996 for any reason, the engine number would have 'AT' stamped in.
