FOR SALE: 80-83 Euro 928 97mm Pistons
I would not use those pistons unless they were going to be used for paper weights,
It looks like too many areas where the chrome coating has come off,
probably from liquid sitting in the bores.
Note the ring lands also appear to be filled with carbonized crud,
so you could have potential of cracked ring lands from ring removal.

Im just looking at your pictures,
they might work till they dont,
if they dont the bore will probably get scored.
FWIW, a long time ago 2004 I got a set of used S4 pistons from Germany 75.00 for the set,
the shipping was 300.00,
they are in my 88 S4
NOTE I also had a machine shop soak a set of 85 Euro 16v pistons in their parts cleaner,
and it removed the metal coating. DOH
