Default 928 s4 H4 headlights gap

Hello all.. I took my 1988 928 s4 to Europe... My car Is a US specs.. Had to install the H4 headlights to pass the Spanish ITV test... After installing I realized there is a gap between the headlights and the cover.. See photos... Any ideas on how to fix... Tried to balance with te existing screws but nothing worked!!

Thanks for any thoughts

the caps are not installed correctly. The cap should but up directly to the lens. I suggest removing the covers and inspect how the top hole lines up with the threaded speed clip.

Thank you for your kind advise... I was also thinking it could be the retaining frame.. Since the car is a US Specs and I had to install the H4 European headlights? Could this be also causing the issue?

Looking at the pictures, i doubt the screws on the cover are even making contact with the self tapping washers…

Remove the caps. Make sure the washers are installed correctly. Install the caps and make sure the lower tongues on the bottom sides are inserted correctly then install the top screw followed by the side screws. Do no fully tighten the screws until all screws have been verified to insert into their washers as you need to move things around until the holes align… once verified you can tighten everything in place. It’s quick if you know what you are doing.
